Adonis Hijaz, MD, FACS is certified by the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He earned his undergraduate and medical degree from the American University of Beirut and is fellowship-trained in neuro-urology and urodynamics at the University of Toronto. He also completed additional fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Hijaz is the Director of the Center of Female Pelvic Medicine and Surgery, and Vice Chair of Academics and Research for University Hospitals Urology Institute. He is also the Lester Persky Professor of Urology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Hijaz is very active in research and has led and participated in dozens of projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other organizations. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and abstracts for prominent medical publications, and has also served as reviewer for medical journals such as the Journal of Urology and the Journal of Pelvic Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Hijaz specializes in a wide range of urological disorders and treatments, including female pelvic disorders, pelvic reconstruction and robotic assisted prolapse surgery, urinary incontinence, neurogenic bladder disorders and pelvic pain.
