Bladder Leakage

Many things can go wrong with the complex system that allows us to control urination. Bladder leakage (urinary incontinence) is categorized by the type of problem and, to a lesser extent, by differences in symptoms. It can be attributed to a weakening bladder or pelvic floor, and overfilled bladder or possibly a weak urinary sphincter. The chance of a leaky bladder will usually increase with age and is much more common in women.

Types of Urinary Incontinence:
  • Stress incontinence
  • Overactive bladder or Urge incontinence
  • Both overactive bladder and stress incontinence
